KURDWATCH, June 17, 2010—On June 14, 2010, members of various Syrian security authorities stormed an assembly of the Kurdish Political Council. The event had to be canceled. The Kurdish Political Council, which is comprised of eight Syrian-Kurdish parties, had organized the event on the occasion of the 53rd anniversary of the foundation of the first Kurdish party in Syria.
