March 30, 2010 – On March 28, 2010, members of the Political Security Directorate in al-Malikiyah (Dêrik) summoned and subsequently arrested Mehmûd Xelef Sefo (b. 1958, married, three children). Sefo is a member of the politburo of the Kurdish Left Party in Syria. On March 29, 2010, he was brought to the branch of the Political Security Directorate in al-Hasakah. Currently nothing is known about the reasons for his arrest.
